Pastor: Dr. Stephen Jones
Dr. Stephen Jones began as the pastor of Second Baptist Church of Greater St. Louis on August 15, 2007, following a year-long search by the church. For Dr. Jones, returning to Missouri is a homecoming. A native of central Missouri, he has served churches on both coasts, most recently as the pastor of Seattle First Baptist Church.
Pastoral Intern: Kara Reagan
We are delighted to share the news that Kara Reagan, a second-year student at Eden Theological Seminary, will be our part-time pastoral intern in her field education again next year as well. We will try to expose Kara to the broadest dimensions of pastoral ministry in the local church and this means that you will see her leading in worship, calling on members and preaching. She also has two areas where she will specialize in her ministry with us. One area of specialization is in youth ministry, where Kara already has, as a volunteer, a great beginning. We will be searching for a second area of specialization. She will work 10 hours a week for the church.
Children’s Education Director: Shari Nelson-Faulkner
Our children’s education director, Shari Nelson-Faulkner, studied Bible as her minor field at Harding University, from which she also received a B.A. in English and a Master of Education degree. She has co-authored and co-edited works for the National Council of Teachers of English. She is the mother of three daughters.
Music Staff: Marilyn and Brad Short
Marilyn Short has been the Music Director since 2006, having served as the organist and choir accompanist since 1999. A member of the American Guild of Organists, Marilyn is also the staff choral accompanist at Webster Groves High School. Marilyn has accounting degrees from Kansas State University.
